My Opinions and Changes in Education I wish to see

Education is the most powerful weapon in the world as said by Nelson Mandela. The importance of being educated is very much important and it is not a frivolous matter. In fact, in India the growing importance given to education is strong and there exists a law stating that elementary education is compulsory. If we think positively, education is preparing us for the world, it is giving us proper access to the five senses and the sixth sense or common sense must be linked by using all the knowledge gained in the years of schooling. So, as a student would like to express my opinions, views, and also what I think should be the changes.

So, many students know their materials well, and are good students but, they do not know basic life skills. Most students don’t know the absolute basics when it comes to cooking, cleaning, or anything important we need to survive in the world. You may know the formula for the Curved Surface Area of a Cuboid but, if you don’t know how to cook, do your dishes, do laundry, and more, then consider fourteen years of schooling a total waste. So, for this according to me, the perfect solution is the introduction of a “Life Skill Class”. It can be just like Maths period or Science period as long as it is a part of the timetable and there twice a week. During the class, students can theoretically and practically be taught basic life skills. Exams may not be conducted, instead, parents can test their children, correct them, and also supervise them. It will be a fun experience and people who have experience as life skill practitioners can be the most essential tutor or professor. This is a foolproof way to teach all students basic life skills that will be beneficial for daily life. It can create great consistency in young people.

This next thing is just my suggestion and I don’t know whether it will ever be implemented. The idea is having students choose the subjects they wish, based on the careers they wish to opt for. This will improve the foresight and increase the success percentages of receiving your dream career. But, the problem might be if some students suddenly change their minds or maybe have bad foresight. This is could be a huge problem but, this method helps us to focus only on what we desire. It helps us build a passion for the profession.

Lastly, the one opinion I have which school should teach us is time management. Time Management is really important, to do all tasks we must adjust our time to be much more productive. It would be great if at school at least ten minutes was utilized for managing time and teach us to schedule our study timetable at a tender age, so it becomes a habit. So, by learning life skills, little more freedom, and time management, education is much more retainable and manageable.
