Durrar Toastmasters Club Celebrated Its 150th Milestone Meeting

Durrar Toastmasters Club (Club#4413490, Area-29, Division-H) celebrated its grandiose 150th milestone meeting on Saturday, 6th March 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM through online media Zoom.us with the theme “Conquer From Within”. There were around 70 toastmasters and non-toastmasters from different parts of the world.

The event was specially crafted for the individuals who are interested in personality development through public speaking and for those aspiring to develop leadership skills and confidence building under the watchful guidance of experienced toastmasters.

The highlights of the event were a captivating speech by DTM Aditya Maheshwaran, an enlightening talk by Dr. RJ George and release of Club Magazine by DTM Sindhumol Thomas.

Distinguished Toastmaster Aditya Maheshwaran is a management consultant based in London, a much sought after keynote speaker, who has addressed audiences in over 20 countries. He is the first Indian representing India to be a finalist at the world Championship of public speaking in 2015 (Las Vegas) where he had a podium finish and the Champion finalist in 2017 (Van Couver). His coaching and thought leadership combines the latest science with the eternal wisdom of Indian Philosophy. He came up with a topic “Become a better you”, which brought new insight, how to improve your leadership skills practicing mindfulness and understanding Neuroplasticity followed by an engaging Q&A session, meticulously handled by vibrant toastmaster DTM Alka Kumra.

Another thought provoking speech delivered by DTM Dr. RJ George on theme “CONQUER FROM WITHIN” with a call for action “Narrow down the divide between person and persona”.

Club Magazine “Reflection” added charisma to the event and showed the diligent work of DTM Sindhumol Thomas and her editorial board members TM Aji George Panicker, TM Beetha Johnson, TM Rubina Sheikh & TM Tabassum Usmani.

SAA Tabassum Usmani started the meeting by calling a minute of silence to pay homage to the departed soul of DTM Priya Chandi (May her soul Rest in Peace), followed by reading of club mission and ground rules. President TM Aji George then welcomed members & guests with an inspiring note and handed over the virtual podium to enthusiastic and energetic Masters of Ceremony TM Dr. Rajeev Alasseri and TM Sudha Kshatriya who raved the event. They welcomed Dignitaries, Program Quality Director DTM Alifiya Lakdawala, Club Growth Director DTM Khalid Abdullah, Division-H Director TM Faisal Jameel and Area-29 Director TM Nitesh Jacob for felicitation speeches.

The mesmerizing presentation “Showcasing Saga of Durrar” by TM Jeswin Ann. Samuel included Club Journey narration by Club Founder DTM Anil Lobo, Club Sponsor DTM Sunil Kumar Singh, Club Mentor DTM Alka Kumra and Charter President DTM Christy Kulathooran. “Nostalgia” segment handled by DTM Sathyamurthy Ramanujam, TM Sadiq Ali along with Div. Director during Club’s launch DTM Wafaa Salman took everyone down the memory lane.

The Event Chairs TM Sameena Sabir and TM Adeeba Sarfaraz expressed their gratitude to all the Dignitaries, Guest Speakers, Chartered Members, Event Management Committee, IT Members and PR Committee for their hard work, continuous support and endless efforts. They specially appreciated the creative art work of IT Professional, TM Irshad Ahmed Syed who spread beautiful colors all over the screen in the form of logo, agenda, certificates, virtual background, video, flyers and invitations, thus sported the true spirit of Toastmasters.

Area-29 Director TM Nitesh Jacob concluded the meeting by honoring the rising stars of Durrar Toastmasters Club (Area winners) DTM Alka Kumra, DTM Sathyamurthy Ramanujam TM Aji George Panicker, TM Beetha Johnson and TM Rubina Sheikh.

Durrar Toastmasters club was chartered in January 2015 and currently has more than 20 members. The club meets twice a month every first and third Saturday where members enjoy and learn by taking up various roles. Durrar Toastmasters is affiliated to Toastmasters International.
