Working permits for expats above 60; new decision expected in two weeks

Amendments to the decision, which prohibit the renewal of work permits for those above 60 years of age, are expected within two weeks, local media reported quoting Deputy Director-General at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Eman Al-Ansari.

On the sidelines of a field tour in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, Al-Ansari said that there are expected amendments to the decision for the benefit of the country and the employers, which will be announced within two weeks.

Earlier local reports indicated that the authority might permit the renewal of work permits for expatriates above 60 years of age for a fee, which will be doubled annually.
