IBPC Meritorious Awards 2020

IBPC Meritorious Awards function took place at Indian Embassy auditorium on 3rd April, 2021 at 2:30 pm. It was a meticulously timed program with only few attendees present at the venue. But, more than 300 attendees attended on virtual platform via zoom link kindly provided by the Embassy.

Mr. Sunit Arora, coordinator of the event, started the event by inviting the Chief Guest H.E Mr. Sibi George and Mr. Gurvinder Lamba for lighting the lamp. It was followed by National Anthem of Kuwait & India.

Mr. Lamba, IBPC Chairman Nominee started with his welcome speech and gave a brief synopsis of the activities performed by IBPC. He highlighted on the importance of education and the felicitations by IBPC as a way of giving back to the society. H.E Mr. Sibi George, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait captivated the attendees with his motivational speech, depicting the importance of education, congratulating and wishing the best to the students for their future.

Dr. Kamlesh conducted the awardees proceedings, truly honouring the ten students who had secured the best scores. These were in the category of Gold & Silver awards, received their medals and certificates by H.E. Mr. Sibi George. The balance of 219 bronze and silver medalists were recognized by displaying their names on the screen and also broadcast via virtual link. Their medals and certificates were sent to the respective school Principals for handover to the deserving students. The excitement went to the peak when the best performing school’s trophies was announced. This year both the trophies for 10th and 12th Standard are won by the Indian Educational School (Bhavans).

The criteria formulated by IBPC include the Awardees for 10th & 12th Std. Students from Indian Schools with CBSE board. Cut off marks for 10th was 97% and above and for 12th was 95% and above. Among the distinguished guests present were the Principal Mr. Prem Kumar, Dr. Asha Sharma, Dr. Shobha and Mr. Bikram Ally.

Finally, a remarkable vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sunit Arora who thanked the Chief Guest, IBPC Committee, students, parents, media and his entire team who have spent tremendous amount of personal time and effort in collating and verifying all the data and information, to conduct a seamless event.
