Writers’ Forum Kuwait enjoys festive mood

It was on the beautiful evening of 26th March when the Writers’ Forum Kuwait met together on the virtual platform of zoom to enjoy poetry. With the ongoing Covid-19 threat in Kuwait, the Writers’ Forum Kuwait members continue missing their physical meetings. However they have kept their creativity alive by meeting every month on the virtual platform and sharing their poetry on various subjects and celebrating various occasions.

The meeting started with a festive mood with the General Secretary of the forum Ms. Nazneen Ali wishing the members on the occasion of the Indian festival of colors, Holi. She continued the meeting by inviting the President of the forum Mrs. Maimuna Chougle to preside over the meeting while Hindi poet Ameeruddin Ameer was requested to be the chief guest of the evening.

The first session of the meeting commenced on a high-note with famous Urdu critic and President of the forum Mrs. Maimuna Chougle reading an in-depth, informative and insightful article on poet and writer Gulzar’s writing skills as a Novelist. This was followed by a short story by Ameeruddin Ameer with the message of truth and honesty that was appreciated by all.

The meeting then ran into its second session where the poets expressed emotions and ideas in the best creative forms. The poetry filled with emotions, hope, love and life were a source of motivation particularly in the current situation of distress.

While Dr. (Mrs.) Radhika Guleri Bhardwaj, Mrs. Chhaya Athavle, Mrs. Priyanka Baranwal, Mrs. Anupama Chaturvedi and Umesh Sharma recited their outstanding poetry in Hindi, Ms. Nazneen Ali, Sabir Omar and Sayeed Nazar Kadpawi mesmerized everyone with their Urdu poetry.

The bonding between the Forum members was witnessed with the presence of members Mrs Chhaya Athavle, Rajiv Athavle, Umesh Sharma and Sunil Sonsi joining online from India. Member Mohan Singh and Biswa Ranjan were also present in the meeting.

In his note as the Chief Guest Ameeruddin Ameer appreciated all the members for their creativity mentioning each meeting of WFK is unique in its own way and a learning process for all. In her Presidential remarks Mrs. Maimuna Chougle congratulated all the members for their continued efforts and literary contribution. She encouraged everyone to continue reading more and spread love and humanity through their writings.

The meeting concluded with everyone wishing each other a blessed Holy month of Ramadan.
