Kuwaiti Federation of Laundry Shop Owners sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Corona Emergency Committee Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah requesting permission for laundry shops with delivery service to operate during the partial curfew period and issue exit permits to their employees.

Chairman of the Federation Jamal Al-Ansari affirmed these laundry shops vowed to strictly comply with the health regulations including social distancing, pointing out this will help the shops fulfill their financial obligations especially since they have already incurred huge losses due to the corona pandemic.

The number of laundry shops in Kuwait reached 3,000. 50 of these shops shut down permanently while 400 closed temporarily due to their inability to pay salaries and rent, Al-Anba daily reported quoting Jamal Al-Ansari.
