Tamil Passanga Riggae Becomes The Second Time Champions Of UAE EXCHANGE Saturday Cricket League SEASON 7

SCL Season 7 finals held at Mumbai Indians Cricket Ground, Kuwait City on 9th Apr 2021 was a great entertainer for the spectators. Tamil Passanga Riggae took on mighty Scorpions Kuwait Cricket Club in the Finals. TPR created a record by winning the stupendous high scoring match, by chasing the highest score in the final of 158 runs in SCL history ever and won by 4 wickets and once again crowned as Saturday Cricket League (SCL) Season 7 Champions. It is worthwhile to note that the Winning Champions TPR are under no sponsorship and yeah, are ready to welcome sponsors.

SCL 7 started with 22 Teams, as 11 teams on each pool competed against each other in Group stage and Top 6 of each pool qualified for the Knockout Stage.

TPR qualified directly to the quarter finals as they finished second in Group Stage A. In quarter finals they won by 5 wickets against GUTZXI. As they made their way to the finals went by winning the Semi Final against Almulla Exchange comfortably chasing 130 runs in just 9.5 Overs. Sarjoon 30b 63runs & Hilmy 9b 34 runs are worth mentioning on this blistering chase.

SKCC also qualified directly to the quarter finals as they finished as undefeated table toppers in Group Stage A. They won by 9 wickets against Place XI in the quarter finals. And faced Landmark Warriors in Semis by restricting them to 81 all out with their fiercening bowling line up and won by 5 wickets. Jason 1.5 Overs 10 runs 2 wickets & Farhan 1 over 7 runs 2 wickets are worth mentioning in the 2nd Semis.

On the Big final Day, Tamil Passanga won the toss and elected to bowl first. Scorpions posted a mammoth total of 158/7 in the allotted 12 overs. Opening batsmen Mohammed Arif 43 runs off 24 balls set beautiful platform for his team to post a big score, followed by splendid batting performance from Parvinder Kumar with 50 runs off 18 balls.

The unsung hero of this match was Safiullah Mohamed (Tamil Passanga Riggae) who contained the opposition team with his spin variations and picked up the opening wicket, finishing his 2 overs conceding just 13 runs, followed by his partner Kabeer picking up the 3 wickets in regular intervals in his allotted 3 overs.

With 159 as a target to win, Team Tamil Passanga finished the match 159/6 in 11.4 Overs with 2 balls to spare. Mohammed Hilmy scored 42 runs off 22 balls by launching 6 rocket shots all over the ground. Followed by Hasan Qasim scoring 50 runs off just 16 balls, his effortless batting was a real entertainment for the spectators. Safras Adampulle took the role as a finisher and scored 27 off just 7 balls.

Muthu Kumar (GutzXI) was awarded as Best Bowler for his 25 wickets of this season.

Ravindu Nadeeshan from Landmark Warriors was awarded as Best Batsman of this series for his consistent batting throughout this season (11 Matches - 425 runs)
Sibin Babu from Lulumoney CC awarded as Best Fielder of the Series for his 29 dismissals

Sanjeewa Kumara of David N Broz got Man of the Series award for his 408 runs in 11 matches also for supporting the team with his all-round performance including 14 catches in total.
