BDK organized a blood donation camp during the Holy month of Ramadan.

BDK-Kuwait Chapter organized an emergency blood donation camp in partnership with the Central Blood Bank during the holy month of Ramadan. The blood donation camp was organized at Adan Blood Bank on the special request of the Central Blood Bank of Kuwait in view of the scarcity of blood donors due to the spread of Covid-19.

It was the 7th consecutive blood donation camp, successfully executed in the current year, organized by the BDK Kuwait Team, with the support of various organizations and institutions.

The camp was led by a team of about 25 medical personnel, including doctors and paramedics from the Central Blood Bank.

The camp, which was held on Friday, April 23, from 9 am to 1 pm, received an unprecedented response from the expatriate community. 121 donors, including men and women who were fasting, had registered and 106 people successfully donated blood. Employees from certain organizations like 3B General Trading , came collectively and donated blood in the camp.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Abdul Aziz Hamad Al Haddad, a renowned Kuwaiti violinist and well known among the expatriate community. After the inauguration, he donated blood with the expatriates community, despite him being fasting. He highlighted the incessant support given to Kuwait by the expatriate community during times of crisis. BDK Kuwait Patron Manoj Mavelikkara honoured the special guest.

BDK Kuwait Advisory Board Member Rajan Thottathil greeted the gathering, while BDK chapter president Reghubal presided over the function. Nimish Kavalam welcomed the gathering, and Surendramohan thanked the participants and blood donors. Nalinakshan, Jithin Jose and Deepu Chandran coordinated the camp activities and a team of volunteers led by Praveen, Sarath Kattoor, Thomas John, Rajesh Lal, Freddy, Binil, Liny Jayan, Unnikrishnan, Sreekumar, and Beena worked relentlessly to a flawless conclusion of the camp.
