Thursday, April 29, 2021

Each year on April 22nd Earth Day is celebrated. On this day an array of creative activities are organized with a view to sensitize the children about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful.

Imbibing this spirit, this year ‘Green Home’ activity was organized for grades 3 to 8, which invigorated the young minds towards the conservation of flora. As a part of environmental education, "Go- Green" initiative was taken to engage the whole school community in making a difference. Students were asked to record a video introducing and demonstrating their indoor garden, to join the green side of their home. It allowed us to see the visual beauty of the place, but also to dwell a bit amidst nature.

Everyone has their own thoughts on what is most important for the Earth. Grades 9 and 10 got chance to express their opinions through a panel discussion. Students had brainstorming ideas about caring for Earth. They pledged to continue their efforts till they could create an impact around them.

Teachers also added the finishing touch by addressing the students emphasizing on many obligatory facts and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

This year too due to corona virus lockdown, we celebrated the opportunities online. But, we tried surely to do our bit while staying at home. The events of the day rekindled emotive concerns and instigated the youngsters to save, love and respect Mother Nature with all their heart and soul.
