Students of India International School (IIS), Mangaf, uniquely celebrated Kuwait National Day by creating a marvellous model of the iconic Kuwait Tower with used pens.

The 9.44 meter tall Kuwait Tower model is made with over 40,000 used pens collected from the students.

The idea of creating a Kuwait Tower model is concretized with the leadership of the art teacher Mr Ramachandran under the guidance of the School Director, Mr Malayil Moosa Koya, Principal Mrs Indulekha and Vice Principal Mr Saleem.

"The objective behind this idea is to educate the young generation on the necessity of safeguarding our environment without discarding waste materials carelessly and instead how to utilize it in the best possible way," School Director Mr Malayil Moosa Koya told IndiansinKuwait.com

"We had this idea two years back and told our students to collect used pens. Later due to Corona, it got delayed. Now we had over 40,000 used pens collected, and we could make a 9.44-meter tall structure with that," art teacher Mr Ramachandran told IndiansinKuwait.com. It took almost three months to create this marvellous structure. Students' support was very much encouraging so that we could materialize this, he added.

The structure is shaped with a wooden frame, and over 40,000 used pens are used to decorate its outer cover. The structure was unveiled on Thursday, 24th February, at the school premises as part of the school's national day celebrations.
