When people ask me where my home is, it is hard to answer.

I am an Indian and my hometown is Kerala. But being born and raised in Kuwait it becomes a lengthy explanation to explain where my home is. I am staying in Kuwait for past 14 years. One year I went to India for studying, but it was hard for me to settle there as I have never permanently lived in India other than going for vacations.

Living in India used to be lonely at times , I used to reminisce about my life in Kuwait. So when I decided to return it was a day to remember full of excitement and joy. Life in Kuwait as a student is only understood by those who have studied in middle eastern country . You make friends from different nationalities and Kuwait has given me this opportunity. Here we celebrate different festivals from different culture all together. India having broad culture, you can see the glimpse of it here , Kuwait gives us that freedom.

From food to travelling , a person gets attracted to everything . Cuisine from all over the world is available here, you have endless options. Travelling is easy and safe. All areas are well connected , a person can easily move around from one end to other. A woman feels safe even when she is alone. It has helped to become who I am today and I am very proud of it .I love being here.

Honestly I cannot say India in not my home country because it is who I am while I cannot say Kuwait is not my home country as it’s the place I’m close to.
