AMUOBA General Body Meet & Family Get Together

AMU Old Boys’ Association-Kuwait chapter: Alumni Unite in a Memorable Desert Gathering - A Blend of General Body Meet and Adventure on 26th January 2024 at Julai’a Desert Camp.
In a celebration of shared memories and camaraderie, alumni from diverse graduating classes recently converged at the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association Social Meet and Desert Camping Picnic held on 26th January 2024 at Julai’a Desert Camps on Road No. 40.

The event, organized by the AMUOBA-Kuwait Chapter, aimed to foster connections, provide a unique experience, and strengthen the bonds among graduates.

Networking Takes Center Stage: The event commenced with a General Body Meet cum social gathering where alumni of various years engaging in vibrant conversations, sharing experiences, and networking with one another. The atmosphere was charged with nostalgia as old friends reconnected, and new connections were forged.

Formal Program Inspires: Distinguished alumni took the stage, as the function started with recitation of Holy Quran by Ali Tauqir followed by the President of the association, Mr. Aslam Parvez addressing the large gathering of the of the alumni association, highlighting their achievements and contributions to their respective fields in last two years as well as sharing the vision for the next two years.

The formal program not only showcased success stories but also served as motivation for current students and recent graduates and their families residing in Kuwait.

The function was marked with national anthems of Kuwait as well as India being played at the large meeting. It ended with a feedback and question and answer session from the General Body meeting of AMUOBA. The General Body Meet included the general alumni plus the registered members of the association. Notable attendees included chaired members and members of the EC.

General secretary of the association Ms. Shazia Mansoor provided updates on ongoing initiatives, upcoming events, and opportunities for alumni involvement. The gathering served as a platform to keep the alumni community informed and engaged with their alma mater. The entire program was conducted by Ms. Talat Fatima, Dy OSD of the association.

Excellence awards for academic achievements by the children of alumni were also given. Notable among them were: from grade 12th Laibah Sabih, for scoring 96%, Nailah Taqui, for securing 96%, Mohammad Abdullah, for getting 95%. Besides Mohammad Ibrahim and Sarah Hassan achieved certificate for their excellent performance in grade 10th.

A Certificate of Appreciation was also given to the members of the previous Executive Council of AMUOBA-Kuwait.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Tariq Waseem, the Vice-President of AMUOBA.

Desert Camping Adventure: Adding an adventurous twist to the gathering, huge participants creating a unique camping experience. A bonfire, team-building activities, and a night under the stars made for unforgettable moments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity. Different games and rides were main attractions of this adventure.

Feedback and Reflection: A dedicated feedback session allowed participants to share their thoughts on the event. Positive responses underscored the success of the gathering, while constructive suggestions were welcomed for future improvements.

Conclusion: For the success of any event the hard work of the members who work as backbone cannot go unnoticed, hence the teamwork of AMUOBA EC in various committees like- Logistic- support committee members- Mr. Khurshid Anwer, Mr. Adil Sareer, Mr. Mohammad Asim Khan, Mr. Yusuf Abdullah (OSD) and Mr. Maqsood Habib Khan. Food committee members- Mr. Shahnawaz, Mr. Tauqeer and Mr. Masood, sports & other activities members- Mr. Khurshid, Mr. Shahid, Mr. Maqsood, Mr. Masood Mr. Asim Khan and. Dr. Ali Adnan led to grand success of this gathering. Not only the EC members but many others also volunteered and have their share in the success of the event.

The AMUOBA Social Meet and Desert Camping Picnic emerged as a resounding success, blending networking, inspiration, adventure, and cultural celebration. The event not only strengthened the bonds among alumni but also showcased the vibrant and united spirit of the alma mater's extended family. As memories were made in the desert, the echoes of laughter and shared experiences will undoubtedly resonate within the alumni community for the years to come.
