Samira Al-Kandari, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority, highlighted the significance of Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates upholding cleanliness throughout the national holiday celebrations in Kuwait.

Emphasizing compliance with Environmental Protection Law Article 33, Al-Kandari insisted on refraining from littering, including balloon disposal, with potential fines of 50 to 500 dinars for violators. The ongoing partnership between the Environment Authority and the Ministry of Interior is highlighted for enforcing Environmental Protection Law No. 42 of 2024 and its amendments.

Teams of inspectors, including personnel from both agencies, will conduct joint inspections at celebration sites to enforce environmental regulations.

Dedicated team of environmental officers has been deployed nationwide to raise awareness and mitigate pollution during the national holiday period. Measures, including a prohibition on environmentally harmful materials such as foam, chemicals, and plastic and rubber waste, including balloons, have been implemented by the Ministry of Commerce for the holidays.
