Indian Embassy consular and Passport center opened in Jahra

Monday, April 1, 2024

Ambassador of India to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika inaugurated a new Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) at Jahra on Monday, April 1st. This is the fourth ICAC in Kuwait managed by Embassy’s outsourcing partner M/s BLS International. The other three are in Kuwait city, Fahaheel and Jleeb.

The Jahra ICAC is another step towards facilitating Indian visas for Kuwaitis as well as various consular services for Indian nationals residing in Jahra and its neighboring areas upto Abdali. The Amnesty-related travel documents are also processed here.

The center in Jahra will be helpful to large number of Indian nationals living in this area including workers at Abdally region. The center also helps the Kuwaiti citizen in this area to avail Indian visa related documents. It may be noted that the number of Kuwaiti visitors to India have been increasing over the years. The Embassy issues multiple-entry Indian tourist visas generally within a day to Kuwaiti and third country nationals. In the year 2023, around 10000 visas were issued by the Embassy.

The new center is expected to further streamline the application process, reduce waiting time, and ensure a seamless experience for all applicants. It is part of Government of India’s steadfast commitment to make public services more accessible, hassle-free and technology-driven.

The Jahra center will be opened on Saturday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm during the holy month of Ramadan. The center is located at Building No. 27, Al Khalifa building, 2nd floor, Office 3 & 14, Block No. 93, Jahra, Kuwait
