Commercial Bank Crowned as Champions of Kuwait Banks Club (KBC) T20 2023/24

The Kuwait Banks Club (KBC) T20 2023/24 tournament finals, held on April 20th, 2024, at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, showcased two exciting encounters: the Cup finals between Warba Bank and Commercial Bank, and the plate finals between Kuwait Finance House and Gulf Bank.





In the Cup Finals, Warba Bank opted to bat first but struggled, getting bundled out for 108 runs in 19 overs. Mohammed Sohel's 53 runs off 38 balls was the lone bright spot. Ashen Sangeeth's four-wicket haul put a brake on Warba Bank's scoring. Chasing the modest total, Commercial Bank comfortably reached the target in just 11 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Nithin Saldana's unbeaten 53 runs off 27 balls was the highlight of their innings. Warba Bank's bowlers could not make much impact, with Mubin and Naveed picking one wicket each. For his brilliant 53 runs Nithin Saldana was declared as man of the match.







In the Plate Finals, Gulf Bank won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kuwait Finance House had a solid start with Nouman Fakhr scoring 39 runs and Zahid contributing 27 runs. Captain Faraz's brilliant unbeaten knock of 62 runs off 45 balls, including four boundaries and three maximums, anchored the innings as Kuwait Finance House posted 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Gulf Bank, in their chase, fought hard but fell short, finishing at 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Bilal Maqsood Ahmed was Gulf Bank's top performer with 49 runs, while Bilal Maqsood Ahmed starred with the ball for Kuwait Finance House, taking 4 wickets. Faraz's outstanding innings earned him the Player of the Finals award.









The matches were followed by a presentation ceremony graced by ( Mr.Talal Al Nassar- Deputy Chairman, KBC, Mr.Ayman Al Mutairi - General Secretary, KBC,
Mr. Abbas Baloushi - GM, KBC, Abu Ali, KBC, Mr. Munaf Tisekar, Head of Corporate Cricket at KCC, Mr. Robert Dsouza, Head of Operations and Mr.Tahir Khan, Venue Manager & Head Coach of KCC Juniors Cricket. The winners and runners-up were duly recognized with trophies and gifts, celebrating their achievements in the tournament.
