Eight expats jailed for bribing officer for getting driver’s licenses

Kuwait court today sentenced 8 expatriates for four years in jail, followed by deportation for bribery case in exchange for obtaining driver’s licenses. The court also sentenced a colonel working in the Ministry of Interior to jail and fine.

According to report, the Public Prosecution charged the colonel with bribery, seizure of public money, and breach of his job duties in exchange for obtaining driver’s licenses for 8 expatriates who did not meet the conditions to obtain driver’s licenses.

The Public Prosecution charged the expatriates that they had begun to mediate for others bribing the first defendant to obtain driving licenses in exchange for financial sums.
