Telangana Chaitanya Sravanthi, TCS-Kuwait celebrated their new year 'Ugadi' Festival

The Telangana Chaitanya Sravanthi (TCS) Kuwait celebrated its Telugu New Year (Sri Krodhi Nama Samvatsaram) Ugadi festival on the evening of 26th April 2024 at International British School – Fahaheel, Kuwait with participation from Members, Families and Guests.

The Ugadi celebrations began with the lighting of the Bhadradeepam by President K. Laxma Reddy, Vice President Oruganti Ramesh, Executive member Krishna Rao and Guests Sri Harshal Pattanam from Malabar Gold, Sri Bawan Priyadharshana from Alghanim Industries followed by a song from the state of Telangana, which was respected and cheered by the audience. Then Ch. Sahasra opened the program by chanting Ganesh Keerthana.

Smt. Abhilasha Suresh hosted the programme. The ‘Panchanga Shravanam-Recitation of Almanac (New Year Calendar)’ was performed by Shri. Krishna Rao Garu who ushered in the good on this auspicious occasion of Shri Krodhi Nama Samvatsaram. Traditional Ugadi Pacchadi, the unique speciality of Ugadi, prepared by Smt. Jayalatha Srisailam was served to all in the Auditorium.

TCS President, Shri. Laxma Reddy addressed the gathering and reminded that the TCS Association was established in 2015-16 based on four principles: ‘Telangana Soyi’, , ‘Samkruthi’, ‘Shikshana’ and “Service/welfare”. He encouraged all members to participate in the activities of the Association with enthusiasm and support the Telugu community as well as Indian citizens through close networking.

Children displayed their dancing and singing skills like a semi-classical dance by Mishita, Sanjula and Praveenya; classical dance by Avyukta; western dances by Sahasra & Cherishya, Tanuj Reddy & Karthika Reddy. Ugadi songs by Avyukta and Cherishya. And last but not least amazing Rama raksha stotram by brothers Ruthwik & Arjun Awari.

The scintillating performance of four Kuchipudi dances - Vinayaka Kautvam, Namah Shivayathe, Mandooka Shabdam and Govinda Namalu by 16 students of Natyaveda School of Kuchipudi, (renowned Teacher Ms. Vedavalli Prasad Garu). The dance troupe was led by Satyavathi and Srilaxmi. The amazing performance of Govinda namaalu was applauded with standing ovation by audience.

Mr. Kondal Reddy thanked all the participants for their commitment and enthusiastic energy throughout the programme. He expressed his deep gratitude to Shri. Krishna Rao Garu for his 'Panchanga Shravanam', Natyaveda School of Kuchipudi’. He praised the delicious Ugadi pacchadi prepared by Jayalatha Sreeshailam Cheruku, the delicious Pulihora prepared by Keerthi Chandrasekhar & Puvvada Sita. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the Sponsors Alsoor Clinic, Malabar Gold and Zenith Solutions. He also thanked the management of International British School for making the event aesthetically pleasing.

TCS Association Council consists of President K. Laxma Reddy, Vice President Oruganti Ramesh, General Secretary Kiran Kumar, Treasurer Gurram Praveen, Cultural Secretary Chandrasekhar and Event Organizer Gotla Ramesh.

The celebrations ended with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by dinner along with home-made delicious dishes prepared by TCS members.
