Kuwait may soon see domestic workers from Malawi

South eastern African country of Malawi may soon start sending domestic workers to Kuwait. According to local media report by Al-Rai Arabic news paper, the official delegation from Malawi had visited the embassies of the Philippines, Ethiopia and Kenya in Kuwait to learn about their experiences and benefit from their expertise to learn about the most prominent challenges and try to deal with them.

The report said that the Malawi government had made an offer to Kuwait in 2016 to sign a memorandum of understanding regarding the recruitment of domestic workers, but it was delayed due to many obstacles.

Malawi officials expressed their hope that the memorandum of understanding regarding bringing their workers to Kuwait would be signed soon, pointing out that the visiting delegation would present its recommendations to the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs in their country to expedite the procedures.
