Dark and hidden, but always within,
Always with you, like your twin.
No matter who you are, and what is in you,
I will always stick to you like a glue.
I won’t show your past or future,
I don’t know your emotions or your passions,
I am as plain as a blank canvas, blind as a bat,
I’m simple and modest, straight as an arrow.
I am not like clockwork, always precise,
But I am an unknown second nature to you,
But one thing that I am sure of,
Is that I will always be with you.
Wherever you go, whatever you do,
I won’t share it, even if I knew.
Even if the sun explodes and the earth shakes,
The sea splits and the mountain breaks.
I will never leave you hanging, all alone,
From childhood, all the way you have grown.
I was always with you, treading all along,
I will support you, whether it is right or wrong.
Even if life throws challenges at you,
Hardship and misery take control of you,
I will always stay with you, forever,
As a true companion, in your endeavor.
I am your friend - the shadow.
