Electricity index reaches record high as temperature peaks

With the rising temperatures reaching 47 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the electrical load index in the country recorded a new high, reaching 15,411 megawatts, marking the orange line.

According to reports, the Ministry is keen to have a reserve of energy with the high load index, to cover the excess demand during peak loads, expecting loads to reach 17,600 megawatts during the current summer.

The Ministry of Electricity is working to reduce loads by raising awareness of the importance of rationalizing energy consumption during the peak period.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department expected that the temperature would reach 50 this weekend, which is the real beginning of the summer season in the country.
