The Ministry of Interior is giving wide scale publicity to the Amnesty scheme announced by the government to rectify the status of expatriates illegally staying in the country. The Ministry has launched wide publicity campaign in several languages including Indian languages to create awareness about the amnesty among the expatriates.

The campaign warns expatriates that after June 17 You won't be able to adjust the legal status regarding residency matters as the deadline for amnesty scheme will end on June 17. Before June 17th, expatriates with invalid residency permit can either change to a new sponsor by paying fine or can leave the country without paying any fee and return to the country on a new visa after June 17th.

According to sources, the Ministry of Interior is preparing a comprehensive plan to address residency violators who did not use the amnesty period to rectify the status or leave the country. The preparations are now at an advanced stage to implement strategies aligned with directives from higher authorities.
