Syro Malabar Cultural Association (SMCA) Kuwait elects new leadership

The Syro Malabar Cultural Association (SMCA) Kuwait, the largest organization of Syro Malabar Church in the diaspora world, elected its 29th governing body during its annual general body meeting held at Abbasiya.

The new comittee elected Denny Thomas Kanjooparambil as the president of the organization, George Joseph Vakytinal as the general secretary and Francis Paul Koikakudi as the treasurer.

The committee also selected Sijo Mathew Alolichalil (Abbasiya), Francis Paul Maliekal (City Farwania), Job Antony Puthanweetil (Salmia) and Jobi Varghese Thekkedath (Fahaheel) the conveners of the respective units.

Founded in Kuwait in 1995, SMCA is an affiliated organization of AKCC, the official body of the Syro-Malabar Church. The central committee consists of office bearers who are elected from the area committees of 4 different areas of Kuwait. The organization has been able to build more than 800 houses through the housing construction projects over the years. Along with that, the organization is conducting many charity activities in both India and in Kuwait
