TEF Kuwait Commemorated “World Environment Day” with Clean-Up Activity

Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) Kuwait, the One & Only ISO 9001:2015 Certified Engineering Forum registered with Embassy of India, commemorated “WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY” on 1st June 2024 @ 6.00 AM. The event was organized to share the message of “Clean Environment” by removing the plastics in the Abu Halifa Ground and Walking Track, Block-1 Abu Halifa.

Theme of 2024 World Environment Day: “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”

This year, TEF joined world bodies in commemorating the “WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY” by volunteering to keep the surrounding area clean and educate our families & friends.

World Environment Day is the biggest International Day for the Environment, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually on 5th June, since 1973. It has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach.

Event started at 6.00 AM with THAMIL THAAI VAAZHTHU followed with Kural from Thirukkural, the sacred book of Tamils. Engr. Kapil shared the welcome address and anchoring was done by Engr. Vadivelan. Clean-Up activity was coordinated by Engr. Kishore, Engr. Kasi & Engr. Saravanan. Around 25 bags of plastics were collected from Abu Halifa Ground and Walking Track, Block-1 Abu Halifa.

Engr. Ashok Garlapati, CSP, QEP, CFIOSH, FASSP, was the Guest of Honor for the event and he enlightened the audience about the importance of World Environment Day. Presently, Engr. Ashok Garlapati leads BCSP as the President, Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), a not-profit corporation headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, which is setting and certifying the technical competency criteria For Safety, Health, And Environmental (SH&E). Engr. Ashok Garlapati, CSP, QEP, CFIOSH, FASSP distributed prizes to the winners of the Environment Quiz conducted through Kahoot.com. Around 200 people participated in the Quiz program. Engr. Ashok Garlapati was felicitated with memento.
