IMA Conducted Arafat Day Gatherings in Kuwait.

Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait successfully conducted a series of events known as Arafat Day Gatherings from May 31 to June 13, 2024. These gatherings, held across various mosques in Kuwait, commemorated the sacred sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, in this month of Dhul Hijjah, also known as the Month of Sacrifice and Hajj.

The Arafat Day Gatherings took place in mosques located in Khaitan, Abbasiya, Kuwait City, Salmiya, Mahboula and Fahaheel, drawing hundreds of attendees. Special arrangements were made to accommodate families, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive environment for all.

Renowned Scholars and Khateebs in Kuwait graced these gatherings, delivering insightful speeches on a range of topics related to the significance of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, Arafat Day, the objectives and message of Hajj, Qurbani (sacrifice) & Eid Al-Adha, the biography of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and the farewell sermon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Mohammad Umar Falahi, President of IMA, spoke on the topic ‘Virtues of the First 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah’ after Friday Prayers at Masjid Abu Rafae, Abbassiya. Friday sermon was delivered by Hafiz Hafizur Rehman on the ‘Life of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH)’. Farooq Khan presented a beautiful nasheed in urdu on Palestine & the program concluded with a Q&A session, where winners were awarded prizes.

Masood Shihab spoke to audience at Masjid Haya Ibraheem, Salmiya and also at Masjid Yousuf Musaid Al Mailem, Khaitan after Isha Prayers on the ‘Life of Ibrahim (PBUH) & Its Relevancy in Today’s World’. His talk was followed by Q&A Session conducted by IMA President Mohammad Umar Falahi, with attractive gifts awarded to winners.
Sharafudin Soofi, a keynote speaker and Khateeb while addressing a large gathering at Maryam Masjid, Mahboula enlightening the audience on the ‘Message of Arafat Day & Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’. He emphasized on Muhammed (pbuh) last message to the world of universal brotherhood, equality and oneness of God, which is universally accepted but sometimes less practiced. Last farewell Sermon of Prophet highlights universal human right which is relevant during all times.

IMA President Mohammad Umar Falahi also delivered Friday Sermon on the topic ‘Hajjatul Wida’ followed by a speech on the ‘Purpose of Qurbani’ at Masjid Yousef Al-Adsani Maliya, Kuwait City. Additionally, he spoke on the ‘Message of Hajjatul Wida to Humanity’ on Thursday, at Urdu Sermon Masjid, Fahaheel after Isha prayers.
A large turnouts at each event are a testament to the strong sense of community and devotion among Muslim expatriates in Kuwait toward observing the sacred traditions of Dhul Hijjah. At the end of each gathering, dinner packets were served, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
