Things to do this summer

Are you tremendously bored during this summer? Have you run out of things to do? Here are 5 WAYS to beat the heat and enjoy yourselves thoroughly!

DIY Shell necklaces

I really love making these because they are so easy and a lot of fun to make. You will see the results in only a few minutes or so. Here’s how to make it!

1)You will definitely need a good shell. The one
showed here was found on the beach. You can
also use fake shells if you want

2)Next you have got to paint it. I painted mine with
brush markers because It dries faster. I did a gradient, but you can choose any design.
Set it to dry.

3)Now you have to make a hole to loop in the string. It’s easier than it looks! All you need is a nail and a hammer (Be very careful with it! Make sure that there is adult supervision) You can only make a hole if the shell is on a hard and strong surface, like the floor. The shell has a hard outer covering, but once you break into that, it is way easier to make the hole

4)The last step is to put the string. Make sure to not use thin threads as it might be hazardous. It is better to use yarn or thick craft rope like shown. To tie it through the shell, put both the ends through the hole and then tie them together. Have fun styling around with your beautiful shell necklaces!

Make your own comic

THIS IS MY FAVORITE HOBBY! I love making comic books a lot, but whenever I ask my friends if they have ever done it, they say that they had started it before, but then gave up on it because it was not good enough. Even if you are a bad artist, please try this because I can assure you that once you start, you will be hooked!

I made mine by folding several papers in half, then drawing a grid containing 6 squares, and then I draw! The cover page and the back of the book are drawn on the first and last pages. Comics look very attractive and interesting even if they are black and white . Even if you draw stick men, it will look really good.

The maximum paper limit is 6 or 7 papers, because then the staples will fall out ( it always happens with mine!!). Even then, there are four sides in each paper, so you will end up with 28 or 32 pages including the cover and the back. Don’t get discouraged on your first try because it will surely get better later. I also recommend Share your smile: Raina’s guide to telling your own story which is a book by my favorite author showing drawing tips, plenty of blank squares for drawing on and excerpts from her own graphic novels. Set up a “dream corner” for yourself

Recently, our balcony was invaded by a hive of bees. Once we got rid of them, we decided to cover up the balcony and turn it into a tiny room. My dad got a small sofa and a kitchen caddy with wheels to keep snacks. He also put up lots of shelves to keep books and other supplies. We were all working on this room for a long time and I was obsessed with organizing all the shelves and the “snack caddy”. I will probably spend most of my summer vacation having fun in “my little corner”. Why don’t you try to make one too? You don’t need to renovate your balcony, but just a blanket, a pillow, some books, stuffed animals and snacks already make a really cute corner. If you have a bunk- bed, why not drape blankets from the top bunk till the bottom all around it to make a cozy corner? Also, why don’t you try making such a corner with a tent? I like to imagine that I am in a cave when I am in one. If you want more ideas, do look it up on Pinterest as it has many great ideas.
