Association of Indian Professionals Meritorious Award Nite- a star studded night

“High achievers spot rich opportunities swiftly, make big decisions quickly and move into action immediately. Follow these principles and you can make your dreams come true.”

The students of Kuwait are these achievers- spotting opportunities and getting great things done in life. When these achievers are collected from the different schools in Kuwait and are appreciated for their hard work and the achievements, it is surely a star studded night. And that is what Association of Indian Professionals has achieved. The AIP Meritorious Awards Nite, held in Indian Community School, Senior, on December 29th 2011, was certainly one of the kind. No other organization has managed to collect and award these many students, spread across various schools. It is their vision and hard work that has made this award session possible.

The program was well planned, with the seats designated for each student. The hall was filled up with students and parents. The first program was an interactive session with the senior students, who are now studying in various colleges and universities, across the globe. Moderated by Dr.Srikumar, it was certainly informative. We asked a lot of questions, based on the admissions into the colleges, living conditions, hostel facilities and other requirements required for entering a college. All questions were duly answered by the senior students. It helped us clear a lot of doubts about our higher studies and the things we have to do to achieve what we have dreamt of. One of the parents asked a student from NIT Trichi, Denis Xavier “What to feel about the problems that NRI students face when the go to study in India?” The boy casually answered, that as long as we don’t show that we are NRI’s or overact, they treat you the same way they treat others. He said that even though he is a NRI, he is the class representative and people treat him nicely.

Then the award session started with the awarding medals for the 12th standard achievers, who have scored above 90% in their board exams. Immanuel Amrita Rhema got the gold medal for scoring 98% in the CBSE 12th board exams. The number of children who got above 90% itself shows the caliber of the NRI students. The 10th class students of various schools who had got a CGPA of 10 had also been awarded with silver medals. These are the upcoming stars. Overall it was an evening of knowledge and evening of stars around Kuwait who have achieved excellence through hard work and determination. I hope that they will continue their streak of success, and make our country proud.

This is a well organized programme of gathering for the Indian origin students in Kuwait. The reception at the gate is very warm welcoming for the awardees and their parents.

Ambassador's presence has given a fine finishing to the event. All the best for the years to come....

Good article giving inspiration for the children at Sr. Secondary grade. Thanks to AIP for motivating the students to perform and excel better. Senior students interview gives an exposure for the students/parents to admit their wards in colleges back home. Keep up ur good work Vivek..
