Salute to all the Teachers

Here is a great salute for all the teachers in our lives who drove us to the zenith of success in very aspect of our lives.

Unlike any other international days, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. In our country, on this day- the 5th of September, some of the students and friends of our former president Dr. S Radhakrishnan approached him to celebrate his birthday. But the genial teacher refused and asked to observe this day as a national teachers day instead of his birthday. Such was the love and respect of a teacher for his profession.

In his book titled, "Political Thinkers of Modern India", he signified the importance of teachers and education in a country like Democratic India which was still in its early years of development. According to him, there is a huge role of teachers in nation building and for that sake teachers should be respected more. Apart from being a thinker and teacher he was also a philosopher. He once wrote a book on Bhaagwad Gita and there he defined a teacher as, “The one who emphasizes on presentation to converge different currents of thoughts to the same end”.

We Celebrate techers day because Teaching is the most influential job in the world. Teachers are known to shape the mind of youth and without knowledge no one can exist in this world. Teacher imparts good value in children and turn them into responsible citizens. So, almost every country celebrates Teacher's Day.

Teacher’s Day is not a holiday for schools and colleges in India. In fact most of the schools, colleges organizes SELF GOVERNMENT DAY on this special day along with other cultural functions, sports events and other competitions on this day. Teachers and students celebrate this event with equal grace. Students also pay their gratitude towards the teachers and give them gifts, greeting cards and blowers bouquets on Teacher’s Day and will express their love towards them through speech or poems on this special occasion.

It is said that nothing is there to compare from the teaching profession. It is the noblest profession in the world. 5th of September has been dedicated to the teaching profession by celebrating this day as teachers day all through the India. It is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of earlier India President, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan as well as pay honour to the teachers. The birth anniversary day of our earlier president has been dedicated to highlight the nobility of the teaching profession as well as contributions of our teachers in the society and country development.

teachers shape us to be academically wonderful and morally good by enhancing our knowledge, skill and confidence level. They always promote us to do every impossible thing possible to do better in the life. Teacher’s day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by the students. They say give them lots of greeting orally or through greeting cards.

Now, talking about the rest of the world, World Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th October and it started form 1994. It was UNESCO who started this tradition. The focus set by UNESCO was to celebrate the engrossment and accomplishment of teachers and also the primacies that they put on the field of education. Now why 5th October is taken up as the Teacher's Day? On this day in the year 1966, a special intergovernmental conference adopted the UNESCO endorsement regarding the statuses of teachers.

What we gain from our teachers, our parents, everyone who guides us is no less than that from a giant. Teachers are the beacons who empower us to make the wind favourable to our journey and help us set sail to reach further academically and socially.

Thank you teachers for your valuable contribution, guidance and encouragement that have given new impetus to our work.
